cab tower

Printed matter:

In order to straighten higher vehicle units and bodies we can extend the existing JOSAM frame press equipment with towers. In other words, the press and counterstay trolleys normally used in frame straightening become the base for the cab towers used in cab and bus repair etc.

JOSAM supplies two versions of "cab tower" depending on what kind of floor installation the customer has chosen. The first alternative is the conventional I-beam anchoring. This means that a floor rack or an I-beam square has been installed in the workshop. If you already work with JOSAM frame straightening system, which is anchored in this way, an I-beam solution is the most worthwhile solution. The trolley and the cab bench are both anchored directly in the tracks in the floor rack.

The pictures shows a JOSAM cab tower anchored with I-beams as it straightens a cab. The floor rack is the same as for JOSAM frame press equipment.

The second alternative is our CT-series with so-called floor and chain anchoring. With this method we install floor anchoring which is drilled and fastened into the concrete floor. The trolley, which in this case is equipped with a nose bracket, is anchored directly in the cab bench or in a threaded "expander hole", for example when repairing coaches. It is fixed in place in the rear by means of stabilizing chains hooked to the floor anchoring. The cab bench itself is fastened into the threaded expander holes. With this type of anchoring we are now able to straighten 360 degrees around the object and 180 degrees in the vertical direction. This, in accordance with the vector principle (by pressing on chains to change the angle) and the possibility of moving the trolley and placing it out of square in relation to the damaged object.

No matter which alternative is chosen, JOSAM cab tower can be utilized on many different objects thanks to its flexible engineering. The "module" function enables you to use the same tools in different operations. A further innovation is that the complete JOSAM cab tower is now manufactured in light weight aluminium alloy which makes the towers very easy to move and reassemble.
